While I can’t wait until it’s safe to have face-to-face Meetups at local coffeeshops again, I still feel it’s important we continue to stay connected by discussing our freelance businesses and lifestyles.
Just like our in-person events in Houston, we’ll be using Lean Coffee to structure our discussion.
What is Lean Coffee? Lean Coffee is a structured, but agenda-less meeting. Participants nominate topics, vote, and begin discussing. Conversations are focused and productive because the agenda for the meeting is democratically generated. To learn more about Lean Coffee, visit https://leancoffee.org/.
A few other highlights for this event:
• 💜 Houston Freelance Creatives and 💚 Seattle Freelance Creatives together for the first time ever!
• Virtual event using two great tools: Zoom and Trello
• Zoom backgrounds so you can rep your city! (Will be posted later)
Schedule (all times US/Central):
8:00-8:05 – Introductions – Everyone will give a brief introduction to the group and share what they do.
8:05-8:10 – Topics – Everyone writes down their topics for conversation on Trello Cards. (One topic per card) If you feel stuck: What’s the biggest challenge you’re facing now?
8:10-8:12 – Voting – Everyone votes on topics they’re interested in discussing by clicking on a topic to pull up the card back. (Votes each person gets = # of topics divided by three)
8:12-9:00 – Lean Coffee – Each topic is discussed, one at a time, in the order of most to least popular, for 8 minutes each. There is a timer located on the discussed topic’s card back.
